8 Best WordPress Hosting Providers of 2021

Dive in to find out which company is the best WordPress hosting partner for your individual needs.

Here's a complete and in-depth look at the hosting market in the WordPress space.

Bluehost (www.Bluehost.com)

The Most Profitable WordPress Hosting ($ 2.95 / mo)

We went here to get the basic package. As you can see, a very inexpensive WordPress hosting option - a shared WordPress hosting plan to be exact. The twelve-month commitment is a minimum, although it is partially offset by a strong money-back guarantee policy, which I have personally relied on without issue.

WordPress installation

In addition to the current capabilities of cPanel, WordPress installations are handled in one click from Bluehost by a service called MojoMarketplace.

MojoMarketplace's interface for installing WordPress left a lot to be desired. Multiple instances could be accidentally installed and general comments on what happened at any given time were inconsistent and confusing. (Looking at Bluehost vs SiteGround, for example, the latter gives you WordPress installations in just a few clicks.)

On the positive side, this immediately gave us an opportunity to speak with support!

Customer service

The chat support service was fast and friendly and helped us to solve the first problems with the WordPress installation and to create a temporary URL to view our site.

Uptime and response times

Bluehost offers near-perfect uptime items with no hassle on the go.

In terms of response time, Bluehost has underperformed a bit recently. Average response times stood at approximately 1.5 seconds.

Charging times (30 day average)

The load times are respectable, but they show the kind of drift that is often expected in a shared hosting environment.

Load test (multiple requests to the site)

  • Server Location: Utah
  • Testing Machine Location: Palo Alto

Far from what we would expect from a company looking to offer the best WordPress hosting.

HostGator (www.HostGator.com)

One of the most popular regular hosts ($ 2.75 / month)

We went here for the starter pack.

Signing up for HostGator was easy, and we signed up quickly without incident in a fairly traditional cPanel setup on the backend.

WordPress installation

Installation was also straightforward with the built-in WordPress cPanel installer. We had to update the themes after installation, but it was only a few clicks.

Customer service

Again, we contacted customer service for help setting up a temporary URL. This is where we ran into our first minor issue with eight minutes of wait time during chat. They weren't as quick to point us in the right direction as previous WordPress hosting providers, but we finally got there. (For example, when comparing HostGator vs Bluehost, the support chat is much easier to access with the latter.)

Uptime and response times

HostGator is one of the few companies on this list that has managed to set a perfect uptime record. When it comes to response times, they are stable but can be a bit better. Currently, the three-month average is 660 ms.

Kinsta (www.Kinsta.com)

Best managed hosting $ 25.00 / mo, Kinsta is a boutique WordPress hosting provider that primarily focuses on optimized managed hosting setups. But just because they're 'tents' doesn't mean they can't handle the load.

In fact, Kinsta has all the power of Google Cloud Platform behind it. They take advantage of Google's infrastructure and make it more accessible and easy to use. Kinsta does not use the traditional cPanel user interface, but instead provides users with a custom dashboard that focuses on what matters.

Customer service

We can only confirm this because the quick interaction we've had with the support team has only been positive (it helped us get the testing site up and running after fixing a billing issue).

Uptime and response times, But what's really impressive is the average response time. In the past three months it was 150 ms.

SiteGround (www.SiteGround.com)

Best Overall WordPress Host ($ 6.99 / month) The company has been making a name for itself in the WordPress community for a while. And not without reason. Their hosting platform is solid when it comes to WordPress optimized servers, and they offer managed WordPress hosting at unprecedented prices (read: you won't find a cheaper managed host of the same quality anywhere else).

It's also worth noting that SiteGround is one of the few hosts officially recommended by WordPress.org.

We opted for the StartUp package for testing. While for a package it is generally more optimized for WordPress, we recommend the GrowBig or GoGeek plan. They are a bit more expensive, but they come with additional benefits such as advanced caching (custom made by SiteGround), staging, premium wildcard SSL certificates and free PCI compliance.

WordPress installation

It only took a few clicks to get WordPress up and running with the built-in installer. There's really nothing more to say here ... the installation process was as smooth as possible. During this installation process, you can also select the location of your server.

Customer service

SiteGround offers what they call "unsurpassed" support (via chat, phone, tickets, social media), and frankly, it's not hard to argue. In addition to accessing your account and troubleshooting any issues, support agents are also knowledgeable about WordPress and WordPress hosting and can help you with a number of other.

In our little test, SiteGrounds customer support was able to help us get a temporary URL that works quickly and efficiently.

Particular mention should be made of the cunning of their customer support software and the extra mile the staff were willing to provide detailed office advice and provide screenshots.

Uptime and response times

In fact, it's hard to say anything bad about SiteGround's response times or uptime.

Responses in the 850ms interval (over three months) are more than you can expect from many of the other hosts on the market and the uptime is excellent.

  • Charging times (average of 30 days).
  • Australia, on the other hand, was a bit disappointing.
  • Load testing (multiple site requests).
  • Server location: Amsterdam.

Test Machine Location: Dublin, Ireland

There were good times on a geographically close test server, but we experienced different variations with different locations.

Online reputation

  • 93% of users renew their hosting plan when it is ready for renewal.
  • SiteGround support rated 4.7 / 5 by users.
  • Read the SiteGround review on the ThemeIsle blog.

Flywheel (getflywheel.com)

Excellent Access Driven WordPress Host ($ 13.00 / month).

Flywheel presents a very attractive offer for people who want to get into managed WordPress hosting but don't want to spend too much on it.

In terms of features, the flywheel lacks nothing and you can also expect excellent performance (more about this in a minute). $ 13 plan.

There is not much to complain about response time either. Times in a range of 1.2 seconds are more than enough to ensure that your visitors have a good experience browsing the site.

Charging times (30 day average)

Ideally, choose the one that is closest to your target audience. Load times were excellent - anything under 1 second is excellent.

Flywheel load times. of the last 30 days

Germany: 0.40s Toronto, Canada: 0.05s

Seattle, United States: 0.24 sec. Sydney, Australia: 0.92 seconds

Load test (multiple requests to the site)

Server location: New York

Test Machine Location: Ashburn, USA

The numbers that flyers have managed to add up here are impressive. They are actually quite unusual! Both the minimum and maximum response times are in the range below 10 ms, which is the best result of this entire comparison.

DreamHost (www.DreamHost.com)

WordPress Approved Hosting ($ 2.59 / mo)

We chose the standard shared hosting plan with DreamHost, which was the most expensive of the basic offers we tested. It is still a very popular WordPress web host on the market.

General account registration with this shared WordPress hosting provider was straightforward and straightforward, and I was curious to see how DreamHost's reputable SSD servers would fare.

WordPress installation

The one-click installation options in the backend worked straight from the port and the interface was generally easy to navigate.

Customer service

We needed help setting up a temporary URL as a subdomain on Dreamhost's main domain. Customer service was available via chat and could help us resolve the issue quickly.

Uptime and response times

DreamHost's uptime stats have been far from perfect lately. Your server has some inaccessibility holes.

Response times are pretty good too. The current average is 930 ms.

A2Hosting (www.A2Hosting.com)

Excellent Standard Performance ($ 3.92 / month)

A2 Hosting is a relatively new player in our search for the best WordPress hosting. The company has made a name for itself in the WordPress space lately thanks to its affordable prices and very good performance (compared to other hosts with comparable prices).

The company has over 10 years of experience in the hosting world and seems to know a thing or two about delivering a quality product. Their WordPress web hosting offering is based on a number of principles: being developer friendly, offering high security, good performance, and an environment optimized for WordPress.

WordPress installation

All WordPress hosting accounts with A2 Hosting come with WordPress pre-installed. You can also install new copies of WordPress through the Softaculous installer with a single click.

Customer service

A2 Hosting is proud to provide you with access to "Guru Crew Support 24/7/365". They claim to select their support team and work only with the most trained technicians. When contacting support, you can use live chat, email, or even the phone. Agents don't disappoint when it comes to WordPress basics, and based on our quick tests, they're ready to recommend some solutions, even if the question you have for them isn't entirely hosting-related.

Uptime and response times. There are some hiccups everywhere. Response time is fine, stays around 1 second. This type of result is more than enough to keep your visitors happy.
